Step #5: ACT BASED ON HOPE not FEAR

An individual who has attained inner peace acts based on hope and not fear. Every decision is hopeful and not just because he/she fears something might happen as a consequence.

Each action is governed by hope – hoping for better things.

Acting based on hope and not fear is not easy. We all fear something:

  • Failure
  • Death
  • Disappointments
  • Risks

No matter what kind of fear we have sometimes our actions are governed by it.

  1. We work hard because we fear if we don’t we won’t have food on our table. An individual who has attained inner peace act not out of fear but out of hope that his hard work will be rewarded.
  2. We struggle because we can’t risk failing in front of everybody. What would they say? How would my loved ones feel if I fail?
  3. We don’t want to risk anything out of fear that it might only backfire on us.

These are all fears preventing us from reaching our goals. These are all fears that govern our actions almost day-in and day-out.

I have not conquered my fears. Honestly, I am far from it. But, who has no fear?

IMHO, even the person who has attained inner peace still has fears. The DIFFERENCE is that this person does not allow his/her fears govern his/her actions. Instead, he/she uses this fear as a way to HOPE that indeed there is something better for everyone.
